Professor Marcin Studniarski works as Full Professor at the University of Lodz, Poland. He is currently the Dean of Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. He is a member of the Polish Mathematical Society and the IEEE. He has published 48 research papers both in Mathematics (Nonsmooth Analysis and Optimization Theory) and Computer Science (Evolutionary Algorithms and Their Applications).

Additionally, She have perennial experience as a project manager and system developer in industry. As head of a system programmer group, She have led long-term software projects (e.g. infrastructure on web-based applications) for a major insurance company. I received my German diploma in computer science from extramural studies at the Fern Universität Hagen and PhD in computer science from the University of Tübingen, Germany.

Dr. El-Baz was named a Coulter Fellow for his contribution in the biomedical translational research. Dr El-Baz has 15 years of hands-on experience in the fields of bio-imaging modeling and non-invasive computer-assisted diagnosis systems.He has developed new techniques for the accurate identification of probability mixtures for segmenting multi-modal images, new probability models, and model-based algorithms for recognizing lung nodules and blood vessels in magnetic resonance and computer tomography imaging systems, as well as new registration techniques based on multiple second-order signal statistics, all of which have been reported at multiple international conferences and journal articles.

Hosam El-Ocla has received the M.Sc. degree in the Electrical Engineering Department of Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt in 1996. He joined the Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, Kyushu University, Japan in 1997 as a research student. He has been awarded the Doctor of Engineering degree in 2001 in the same University. Dr. El-Ocla joined Lakehead University since 2001 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2007. His research interests are on waves propagation and scattering in random media. Also, he is working in computer communications, networks, and protocols particularly of wireless networks. Dr. El-Ocla is a senior member of IEEE (Antenna and Propagation Society). He used to be a member of Institute of Physics (IOP) (2006 to 2009), and technical committee member on telecommunications of IASTED (2005 to 2008). In addition, he is a Professional Engineer of Ontario (P.Eng.). He was invited for research visits to Ariake National College of Technology (Japan) and Manchester University (UK). In 2009 and during his one year sabbatical, he worked in King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He woked in both E-Learning and Distance Learning Deanship and the College of Engineering, Electrical Engineering Department. Dr. El-Ocla has served as a reviewer for many journals such as: IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Signal Processing, Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing, Waves in Random and Complex Media,...,etc. Also he was invited to chair sessions of several conferences. He is working on projects supported by NSERC and always welcome students and post-doc fellows to join his research team.

In 1997 he was awarded the prestigious Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship for doctoral studies. Dr. Rahman is also a Senior Member of IEEE. Dr. Rahman holds a bachelors (1994) and a masters (1996) degree both in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from BUET. He obtained his Ph.D.in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Victoria, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in 2001.

Mohd Helmy Abd Wahab is a senior lecturer and former Head of Intelligent System Lab at the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). He received a Bachelor of Information Technology with Honours from Universiti Utara Malaysia and Master of Science (Intelligent System) from the same university in 2002 and 2004 respectively. He has completed several research grants; won several medals in research and innovation showcases and awarded several publication and teaching awards. He has authored and co-authored 2 books in database and WAP application, published several both local and international book chapters, technical papers in conferences and peer-reviewed journals. He also served as guest editor for Special Issue in Wireless and Mobile Networks in International Journal of Advanced Computer Science and Applications and as Deputy Editor in Chief for Int. Journal of Software Engineering and Computing and scholarly contributed as committee for conferences, editorial team and manuscript reviewers. His research interests are in data mining, artificial intelligence and computer vision, mobile and wireless computing, web-based applications. He is currently a member of IEEE, IEEE Computer Society.

Her Research interests span the optimization and algorithmic mathematics underpinnings of Network Security and Vulnerability, Complex Networks Analysis, and Network-based Data Mining. The networks studied in my research works are various, including communication networks, online social networks, wireless sensor networks, biological networks, and smart grids. I analyze and apply these optimization models and algorithms to many application domains: (a) security in smart grids such as load distribution attacks and cascading failures, security in social networks such as limiting misinformation, security in communication networks such as DDoS attacks; (b) information diffusion and propagation in social networks; (c) fault-tolerant routing protocols in mobile networks; (d) coverage and cloud phenomenon detection in sensor networks, and (e) structural analysis of modern complex systems, including interdependent infrastructures.

Dr. Gurdip Singh is the Associate Dean for Research and Doctoral Programs, beginning August 22 at Syracuse College of Engineering. Since 2014, Singh has served as Program Director at the National Science Foundation in the Computer and Network Systems Division of the CISE Directorate, working with the Computer Systems Research and Cyber-Physical Systems programs. Singh also works with colleagues in the Engineering and Social and Behavioral Sciences Directorate on the Partnership for Innovations, Critical Resilient Interdependent Systems and Processes, and the Research Coordination Network programs.

Biju Dhanapalan is one of India’s leading visual effects directors, working in feature films, commercials, art installations and new media. He has designed and supervised animation and visual effects for over a hundred feature films, which has earned several nominations and awards. Biju has also been involved in stereoscopic projects across varied media. After obtaining a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, he went onto study Product Design at the Industrial Design Centre, IIT Bombay. This trans-disciplinary training and expertise led to successful pioneering projects; India’s first Stereo 3D short film (2009) and Australia’s first live 3D visuals in music concert (2005) among others. As a special effects supervisor, Biju has designed and developed many custom devices and gears for numerous feature films and commercials. He has also designed and developed various filming equipment including 3D stereoscopy rigs. Biju has been a practicing animator and visual effects director/supervisor/consultant for the past twenty years for Indian, English, French as well as Hollywood productions. Few of his successful film projects so far have been ‘Ghulam’, ‘Bhootnath’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘PK’ and ‘Neerja’. Biju Dhanapalan has been a co-exhibitor at the Solomon R Guggenheim Museum, New York. The exhibit was an interactive sound piece with live microphones and recorded tracks, involving a Foley pit and the play of making sounds; making it an interactive perceptual installation. He has designed and executed computer generated imageries for a video installation exhibited at the Solomon R Guggenheim Museum, Berlin. Biju will be co-exhibiting an interactive art installation at the upcoming Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2016
